Ki-moon Reiterates Necessity of Iran’s Participation in Geneva-2 Conference

TEHRAN- UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has affirmed the necessity of Iran’s participation in the international conference on Syria (Geneva-2) scheduled to be held next month.

Ki-moon, during a phone conversation with the Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif said that “Iran’s presence in Geneva 2 Conference is necessary for Syria’s future.”

On Iran’s foreign policies, Zarif said the world is an all-out group towards which Iran should adopt a harmonizing policy, but priority is given to the neighboring countries, “so I went to Iraq in my first visit abroad after Iran-P5+1 group talks in Geneva.”

Zarif described Iran’s relations with Russia and China as strategic, saying that he believes in building equal ties with all countries and rejects unilateral relations.
