Kherson official: Work is underway to hold a referendum on joining Russia

Moscow (ST): Deputy Head of the Civil-Military Administration of the Kherson region Kirill Strimosov announced that preparations had begun in the region for a popular referendum on joining Russia.

The Russia Today website stated that the popular referendum will raise the issue of the Kherson region becoming one of the entities affiliated with Russia.

Strimosov had said earlier that the referendum would give the Kherson region the right to self-determination, while the next stage would include direct elections in the liberated Kherson region.
