Khattab Urges Restraint and Unity in Face of Threats to Syria’s Future

The head of the General Intelligence Service, Mr. Anas Khattab, said in a tweet on X, “From the first moment of the liberation of the city of Aleppo until God helped us liberate the capital Damascus, we (in the military operations department) directed all our units deployed in the governorates to the need for restraint and dealing well with others. Until now, we still call for this .

Khattab went on to say, “Some weak-minded people and criminals took advantage of the previous situations and the difficult circumstances that the country is going through, where we inherited a corrupt and criminal regime by all standards. They started planning and preparing to hit the new face of Syria, the future, whose prosperity hurt them.” “According to preliminary investigations, former military and security commanders of the defunct regime are behind the planning of these crimes, directed by some persons fleeing the country and wanted for justice .” He added.

“Today, 90 days after the liberation of the capital Damascus, some fools thought that they were able to thwart the will of our great people to determine their fate and future, which guarantees them a free and dignified life, so they launched their treacherous operation, which killed dozens of our best men in the army, security and police,”he said.

” I appreciate the positions expressed by our people in all governorates and their solidarity with their brothers in the Ministries of Defense and Interior. We assure them that this victory, which we have all achieved, God willing, will be appreciated, and we will do our best to defend it.” Khattab stressed.

“To those who did not read our warnings to them correctly earlier, I say: malicious hands have implicated you in what you are doing today, and we will not forgive those whose hands are stained with the pure blood of our men . You have no choice but to hand over yourselves and your weapons to the nearest security authority in order to ensure the safety of Syria and its people and the return of the situation to stability and security.” Khattab concluded.
