Khatami: President Assad’s visit to Tehran is strategic

Tehran (ST): Member of the Presidium of the Iranian Leadership Council of Experts, Ahmad Khatami, confirmed that President Bashar al-Assad’s visit to Tehran is strategic and aimed at strengthening the resistance front.

Khatami indicated during the Friday prayer sermon today in Tehran that Syria is on the front line of resisting the Israeli occupation entity, and that President al-Assad’s visit is strategic and refutes the allegations regarding the cooling of these relations between the two countries.

Last Sunday, President Bashar al-Assad paid a working visit to the Iranian capital, Tehran, during which he met Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, and Ibrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The meetings dealt with historical relations between the two countries, in addition to issues of common interest and the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.
