Khamenei: With the martyrdom of Raisi, Iran has lost a prominent figure and a loyal official

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, confirmed that Iran has lost, with the martyrdom of President Ebrahim Raisi, a prominent figure and a sincere official.

Khamenei said while receiving Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, who is currently visiting Tehran to attend the funeral of the martyrs, President Ebrahim Raisi, and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian and their companions: “according to the constitution, the person assigned to head the executive authority, Muhammad Mukhbar, has a great responsibility, and he will continue the process of cooperation with the Iraqi government”.

For his part, Al-Sudani expressed his condolences on behalf of the government and people of his country to the leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Iranian government and people.

He noted that the massive popular participation in the funeral of the martyrs reflects the depth of the relationship between officials and the people.

50 high-level foreign delegations will participate in the ceremony that will be held this afternoon for the funeral of the martyrs Raisi and Abdullahian and their companions.

Among the foreign participants will be about 10 delegations at the level of leaders, about 20 delegations at the level of ministers, and the rest  are at different levels such as speakers of parliaments, special envoys, and others.

The funeral and farewell ceremony for the martyrs began this morning, in the presence of a large number of citizens, heads of the three authorities, and a group of country officials. Large crowds also flocked to Tehran University to participate in the ceremony.
