Khamenei: The fate of the American occupation forces in Syria and Iraq is expulsion

TEHRAN, (ST) – The leader of the Islamic revolution in Iran, Imam Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei, affirmed that the United States will be “expelled from Iraq and Syria,” adding that “The U.S. government’s long-term performance has led to abhorrence by a major part of the world.”

Addressing the students in Iran, Khamenei said that the American administration has become hated around the world because of its practices based on provoking wars. He accused the United States of “warmongering, helping notorious governments, training terrorists,  providing unconditional support for oppression and the like.”

He added that the enemies wish to stop Iran in order to prevent it from becoming a desirable model to be followed by other nations, “but Iran’s military and non-military experiences during the past 40 years have proven that it has all the potentials to defeat its enemies.”

Khamenei called for facing the plans being hatched by the enemies of Iran and said that “the enemy naturally seeks to eliminate national confidence in us.”

The relations between Iran and Syria are strategic, says Abdullahian

On the other hand, the Special Assistant to Speaker of Iran’s Shura Council Hussein Amir Abdullahian reaffirmed that his country’s relations with Syria are “strategic”, stressing the importance of the two countries’ cooperation in combating terrorism.

Abdullahian also stressed in a statement to al-Alam news channel that Syria’s steadfastness has led to the failure of the American plans, referring to the great achievements and victories that the Syrian Arab Army had achieved with the support of its friends and allies on terrorism.

Abdullahian pointed out that the presence of Iranian advisers in Syria came with an official invitation from its government, explaining that they will remain in Syria as long as the Syrian government requests it.

He stressed that his country will continue to support the Palestinian cause until the liberation of al-Quds (Jerusalem) and all the occupied territories.
