Khamenei: By attacking Iraqi popular forces, Washington seeks taking revenge for Daesh’s defeat

TEHRAN, (ST)- Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran Ali Khamenei has strongly condemned the deadly American airstrikes that targeted the positions of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces, saying that the US forces attack is an attempt to take revenge on the popular mobilization forces because of the key role they played in defeating Daesh terrorist organization.

In a statement on Wednesday, Khamenei said that the Iraqi popular forces alongside the Iraqi army have cleaned Iraq’s territories from Daesh, which the Americans had created, so the US wants to take revenge over the terrorists’ defeat.

 The Iranian foreign ministry had strongly condemned the American aggression on the Iraqi popular forces, stressing that it was a clear example of terrorism.
