Khaji discusses with Pedersen the means for a political settlement to the crisis in Syria

On April 14th, the Iranian Foreign Minister’s senior advisor for private political affairsAli Asghar Khaji discussed with the UN Secretary-General’s envoy to Syria ways to politically settle the Syrian crisis.

Khaji said that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports Pedersen’s efforts to continue discussions of the constitution discussion committee in Syria and hold the next meeting of the committee.

Khaji referred to the importance of respecting the Syrian  constitution and holding presidential elections in accordance with it.

In turn, Pedersen expressed satisfaction with Iran’s support in this regard and said that he is holding talks with the Syrian parties to prepare for the sixth meeting of the committee.
