Khaji and Vershinin discuss the situation in Syria and the region

Tehran (ST): Senior Assistant to the Iranian Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs Ali Asghar Khaji discussed with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin  the latest developments in Syria and the region.

Khaji stressed, according to what was reported by IRNA, the need to rebuild the economic situation and alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people, as one of the most important priorities in light of the current stage that Syria is going through, underlining the importance of strengthening of stability and security in Syria.

Khaji called for the continuation of Iranian and Russian aid, and the intensification of international support for Syria.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in Libya and Yemen, with their affirmation of adherence to national unity, respect for territorial integrity, and settling disputes through political means in both countries, in accordance with national law, and away from any foreign interference.
