Kazakh journalist: Syria has defeated forces of international terrorism

MOSCOW, May.30, (ST)- The Kazakh journalist, who chairs the non-governmental Charitable “Al-Farabi’ Foundation in Kazakhstan, Akmaral Batalova, asserted that Syria has defeated the forces of international terrorism that do not want goodness and peace for Syria and its people.

Batalova, who recently visited Syria at the head of a Kazakh delegation carrying humanitarian aid, said in a television interview on the Kazakh “Zona” program in Astana: “The foreign powers have spent huge amounts of money and wasted great efforts to manage and organize a fierce media campaign against Syria, but the Syrian people showed courage and steadfastness, and achieved victory over the forces of international terrorism and external interference.”

The Kazakh journalist expressed her confidence that the situation in Syria is improving from day to day, praising the high performance of the Syrian delegation at the Jeddah summit.

Batalova indicated that the humanitarian aid campaign for the earthquake-affected people in Syria was launched spontaneously, and then received the support of President Qasim Tokayev where popular committees were formed in various Kazakh cities to collect this aid, which was transported to Syria via cargo planes allocated for that by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
