Kazakh Foreign Ministry: Preparations are continuing for a new round of Astana talks on the Syrian crisis
On October 1, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tlauberdi said that the preparations are under way for a new round of Astana Talks on the Syrian crisis in the Kazakh Capital, Nur Sultan this month.
“We are ready for the meeting and we are awaiting official confirmation of its date,” Tlaobrady stated.
The guarantors of the Astana peace talks (Russia, Iran and Turkey) announced in the concluding statement of the 13th round of the Astana talks, which was held in August 1-2, that the next round of talks will be in October.
The Astana peace talks began in early 2017 and held 13 meetings, one of them in the Russian city of Sochi.
