Kazakh Foreign Ministry: International meeting on Syria in Astana format to be held on December 21 and 22

The Official Representative of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aibek Smadiyarov on Tuesday announced that the international meeting on Syria in Astana format will be held in the Kazakh Capital Nur-Sultan on December 21 and 22, 2021.

According to Tass News Agency, Smadiyarov said that the meeting will be held with the physical presence of participants from all concerned parties who confirmed their participation.

Astana meetings on Syria began early in 2017. Since then, 16 meetings have been held, one of them was held in the Russian city of Sochi.

 All these meetings affirmed commitment to preserving Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and to fighting terrorist organizations in the country until their complete elimination.
