Kazakh Foreign Affairs: Astana’s 21st International Meeting on Syria will be held on 24 and 25 of this month
The Kazakh Foreign Ministry announced today that the twenty-first round of the international meeting on Syria under the Astana format will be held on January 24 and 25.
“The twenty-first International Meeting on Syria within the framework of the Astana process will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan on January 24and 25 at the invitation of the guarantor countries,” TASS quoted ministry spokesman Aibek samadyarov as saying.
The final statement of the guarantor states at the twentieth international meeting on Syria, held in Astana last June, stressed its condemnation of the practices of countries supporting terrorist entities in northern Syria. It noted that security and stability in that region can be achieved only on the basis of preserving Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It also emphasized that joint action to combat terrorism and reject separatist agendas and repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory must be continued.
