Kanaani: Iran’s regional policy is based on strengthening relations with its neighbors

On December 26th, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani confirmed that Iran’s policy regarding regional initiatives is based on strengthening relations with neighboring countries.
Kanaani said in his weekly press conference: “The window for dialogue remains open between Tehran and all countries in the region.”
Kanaani explained that Iran’s position towards the Zionist entity is clear, and is based on the need to achieve the rights of the Palestinian people, pointing out that the peoples of the region have proven that they refuse normalization with this entity.
In response to a question about the allegations of the Ukrainian authorities regarding Iran sending weapons to Russia, Kanaani said: “We declared our position on the issue of Ukraine. As for accusing Iran, it will not benefit Ukraine and its people,” adding: “We confirm our readiness to help resolve the crisis and establish peace there.”
Regarding the recent riots in Iran, Kanaani said: “Protesting is considered one of the rights of the Iranian people, but we do not accept the interference of foreigners in these affairs, and the transformation of protests into riots.”
On the nuclear negotiations, Kanaani explained: “The agreement is still on the table, and the window for dialogue is still open by Iran, and if the will is available on the western side, the agreement will be within reach.”
Kanaani noted that America’s approach indicates contradiction, confusion, double standards and negative positions that impede an agreement.
