Kais Saied Declared Winner of Tunisian Presidential Election

TUNIS- The Higher Electoral Commission in Tunisia announced on Monday that Kais Saied has won the second round of presidential election in Tunisia.

Exit polls gave the 61-year-old independent candidate Kais Saied, a former professor of constitutional law, a landslide victory in the October 13 presidential runoff election over businessman and Qalb Tounes party president Nabil Karoui (56), according to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse.

Kais Saied was given 76.9% of the votes while Nabil Karoui got 23.11%, the agency said.
