“ Kafafi” is a Charity Bazaar, which is being held at the “ Dama Rose” Hotel in Damascus by the “Hefz Alnemah” Charitable association.
The bazaar, which will last till tomorrow, displays diverse products including : knitting, accessories ,foods, sweets, jams and other products for 200 participating women, who became the breadwinner for their families as a result of the war conditions.
Abeer Al-Olabi Chairperson of the “HefzAlnemah” Association, explained to Syria Times that: “The bazaar, which is held in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and with the support of Cham Wings Airlines and Al Baraka Bank, targets the women, who lost their breadwinners and empowers them and to have private projects and be able to secure income ”.
She indicates that “the project rehabilitated 200 women enabling them to enter the labor market and have their own products.”
Nancy Ajlani, the bazaar organizer told the “Syria Times” e-newspaper that the bazaar aims are to highlight the handicraft project and to encourage participating women to develop their capabilities within the project”.
“The project includes training women to make different things such as cooking or handicrafts and embroidery, so that the woman will be self-reliant”, Nancy added.
“ we have also another participants in the bazaar as charity associations and women who have displayed various handicrafts” She said.
Participant Maysaa displays paintings on glasses, boxes and gifts. She said : “we participate in this bazaar to acquaint people with our products”.
Another participant Rana Hatahet, shows perfumes which she made by herself and made them from natural materials such as flowers.
Rana has been working in this craft since ten years and she has participated in bazaars for several times. She aims to expand her small project and make people familiar with her perfumes.
For her part, Maya displayed for the first times handmade chocolate with different tastes and she seeks from her participation in the bazaar to know what costumers like.
