Kadyrov: Russian forces liberated 800 civilians from the Azot plant

MOSCOW, Jun.26, (ST)- President of the Russian Republic of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has announced that the Russian forces had liberated 800 civilians, including children, who were used as human shields by the Ukrainian armed extremist groups at the Azot plant in Severodonetsk, Belogansk.

“It can be said without exaggeration that these civilians were released from Ukrainian captivity,” Kadyrov said in a post on his account on the Telegram channel.

He added that the Russian forces were providing them with a “green corridor” through which they could obtain assistance, food, medicine and a quiet life only a hundred meters from the plant.

Kadyrov wondered what those fascists who kept civilians as human shields can be called, as what they did proves the falseness of Nazi propaganda.

The forces of the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Russian support forces announced yesterday the start of the cleaning operation of the nitrogen plant in Severodonetsk.

In this context, TASS quoted an officer from the People’s Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) as saying on Saturday that people remaining on the premises of the Azot plant in Severodonetsk are in safety and have been provided with everything they need.

“There are a lot of people in the basements of the enterprise, and the 800 [people] announced today is only part of them, those who have already come out. People in the industrial zone are now safe, under the protection of allied forces. Everything they need, food and medicines, has been delivered to them,” the source said.

Earlier, the LPR’s People’s Militia told TASS that the evacuation from Azot had been temporarily suspended due to the shelling by Ukraine’s armed forces.

On Saturday, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov stated that the entire territory of the Azot enterprise in Severodonetsk had come under control of LPR units. According to LPR People’s Militia officer Andrey Marochko, the republic’s forces together with Russian troops continue to clear the premises of Azot and evacuate civilians.
