Junior Chamber International in Lattakia holds a participatory forum to promote the concept of entrepreneurship
The participatory forum organized by the Junior Chamber International ( JCI)-Ugarit in Lattakia focused on the role of the Chamber in promoting the concept of entrepreneurship and supporting youths’ efforts in advancing the economy within their local community.
The topics discussed by the participants in the forum included motivating young people to be active individuals with a positive impact on their community and providing high-level training to achieve this goal.
They also dealt with ways to support startups and small companies, enhancing communication through their wide network of experienced Syrian entrepreneurs, and the importance of developing leadership skills of individuals to face a changing world in addition to contributing through its projects to achieving the sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations.
The Executive president of the JCI in Syria, Dr. Ammar Al-Essastressed in a statement to the Syriatimes e-newspaper the importance of activities that are concerned with making a positive impact on society, through developing youth skills and active participation in planning and implementing development projects that achieve benefit for all.
In turn, Muhammad Shammout, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the JCI -Syria 2020 and member of the Board of Directors of the JCI for the year 2023, affirmed the importance of this event in introducing the role of the JCI in preparing an active generation from various specializations and in all sectors that is capable of achieving positive change and facing local , social and economic challenges and supporting new entrepreneurial ideas.
The elected local president of the JCI-Lattakia for the year 2023, Junior Makhoul told Syriatimes that the Ugarit Chamber supports Lattakia Chamber in terms of promoting the concept of entrepreneurship in Syrian society, as the forum targets businessmen, investors, and private and public companies, referring to the efforts of the Chamber to invest youth energies and support small projects.
For her part, Project Manager Carla Eid stressed the necessity of cooperation between youth, investors and entrepreneurs through training courses organized by the Chamber with the aim of empowering them and enhancing their skills and experience.
In turn, Engineer Maryam Fayyoud, head of the Lattakia branch of the Syrian Computer Society SCS and supervisor of the Information Technology Incubator, pointed to the importance of strategic partnerships held by the SCS with various parties to support academic education and create opportunities for young people to enter the labor market and enhance Syria’s presence in international events and achieve high positions.
