Jordanian syndicates call for terminating the gas deal and the Wadi Araba Treaty signed with Israel

AMMAN, (ST)- The Council of Jordanian Syndicates and Vocational Unions has called for cancelling the gas deal and the Wadi Araba Treaty the Jordanian government has signed with Israel. The council has also called for expelling the Israeli Ambassador in Amman in response to US President Donald Trump’s announcement of the so-called “Deal of the Century”.

In a press conference on Monday, the Council announced forming a higher unionist committee that will cooperate with Jordanian political parties as well as Arab vocational unions with the purpose of confronting the conspiracy called “Deal of the Century”.

Mazen Rsheidat, Chairman of the Jordanian Lawyers Syndicate, said that the Arab lawyers union in coordination with the Jordanian and Palestinian lawyers unions had decided to form a committee to support the trial of Trump and the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as war criminals and to stand against any decision that would undermine Arab and Palestinian legitimate rights.

Rsheidat added that by announcing the so-called “Deal of the Century” Trump cancels all international legitimacy resolutions, noting that Trump’s announcement concerning the Syrian Golan and the Valley of Jordan is one of the goals of this deal.
