Jordanian Parliament Approves a Recommendation to Expel the Israeli Ambassador from Amman

Amman (ST) – The Jordanian Parliament on Wednesday unanimously approved a recommendation to expel the Israeli ambassador from Amman, in protest against the racist statements of a minister of the Israeli occupation government about Palestine and Jordan.

The Jordanian Petra news agency quoted the Jordanian Parliament Speaker Ahmed Safadi as saying during a session of the parliament today: “We call on the government to take effective measures towards the Israeli Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich for using an alleged map of the so-called (Israel), which includes the borders of Jordan and the occupied Palestinian territories.” Smotrichclaimed that “there is no Palestinian history or culture, and there is no such thing as the Palestinian people.”

The parliamentarians affirmed that this behavior reflects the Israeli arrogance that disregards international treaties and coventions, calling on the government to take action to confront these reckless practices.
