Jordan welcomes new Syrian government

Jordan welcomed the announcement of the formation of the new Syrian government, expressing hope that this government will achieve the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom, equality, dignity, and peace after their long suffering.

The Jordan News Agency (Petra) quoted the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Sufyan al-Qudah, as saying in a statement today: “The Kingdom is keen to deepen cooperation with the new Syrian government in various fields, reflecting the historic and strategic relationship between the two brotherly countries. It emphasizes the necessity of building relations based on mutual respect, mutual support, and trust, and addressing all issues in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly countries.”

Ambassador al-Qudah reiterated Jordan’s firm stance in supporting the rebuilding of Syria on the foundations that preserve its security, unity, and stability.
