Jordan Executes Terrorists Rishawi and Al-Karboli

Amman-The Jordanian authorities announced on Wednesday that they executed the terrorist suicide bomber Sajida al-Rishawi, who was sought by Daesh terrorist organization, and Zeyad al-Karboli, al-Qaeda-affiliated member. The execution was carried out a day after video footage emerged of the so-called Islamic State (IS) burning alive captured Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasasbeh.

According to the Jordanian Petra New Agency, Al-Rishawi, was executed after she was convicted in 2006 of plotting terror acts and for her role in the 2005 terrorist bombings which hit three hotels in Amman and claimed the lives of 56 people. She was sentenced to death in 2006 but the penalty hasn’t been implemented until today morning. Daesh had demanded the release of al-Rishawi in exchange for the life of the Japanese hostage Kenji Goto who was later beheaded by the terrorist organization with images of his death released in a video on Saturday.

The other convict Zeyad Al-Karboli was also put to death after he was convicted in 2007 of plotting terror acts that led to the death of innocent persons. Both of the convicts were members of terrorist organizations.

Reuters reported that after the footage of the killing of 26-year-old Kasasbeh emerged, Jordan promised a swift response.

Jordan had been launching air strike against “Daesh” targets in Syria as part of the US-led alliance.

“The revenge will be as big as the calamity that has hit Jordan,” army spokesman Colonel Mamdouh al Ameri said in a televised statement confirming the death of the pilot, who had been seized in December.
