Jordan Chamber of Commerce President Welcomes U.S. Sanctions Lift on Syria, Sees Economic Boost Ahead

The President of both the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce , Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement to lift all sanctions imposed on Syria, affirming that the move will strengthen economic relations between Jordan and Syria.

In a statement to Jordan’s Al-Mamlaka TV, Al-Haj Tawfiq said the decision will also create opportunities for Jordan’s construction sector to take part in Syria’s reconstruction process.

He noted that banking activities with Damascus are expected to gain momentum following the sanctions lift.

“The banking sector is the lifeline for all other sectors, including imports and exports,” he added, stressing that the removal of restrictions will allow for more dynamic trade and financial interactions between the two countries.
