The Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Damascus Mun Jong-nam has affirmed that the historical and distinguished relations binding Syria and DPRK are based on firm principles and his country will continue to firmly support Syria’s struggle to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a speech during a reception ceremony held by the embassy of Democratic Korea on the occasion of the 78th birthday of the great leader Kim Jong Il, Jong-nam said “we stand firmly beside Syrian government, the army and the people in its just struggle to protect the country’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
He pointed out that last year witnessed an active exchange of delegations between Syria and the DPRK , in addition to the 11th session of the Syrian-Korean joint committee that took place successfully, which indicates the depth of the existing strategic relations between the two countries.
On his part, Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh affirmed that the friendship ties between Syria and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea ( DPRK ) are historical.
Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, highlighted the fact that the historical relations that have linked Syria and Democratic People’s Republic of Korea overcame the most difficult circumstances as the two countries faced the same war and aggression.
