Joint work mechanisms between the Ministry of Local Administration and the World Food Program

Damascus (ST): The Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Engineer Hussein Makhlouf, discussed with the Deputy Executive Director of the World Food Program, Ramiro de Oliveira Lopez da Silva, and his accompanying delegation, ways to enhance and develop cooperation between the two sides, in light of government priorities and in a way that achieves a better response to needs.

During the meeting, Makhlouf indicated that the Syrian government is working to provide services to citizens in various health, educational and social sectors, and in their places of residence in a way that meets their needs by expanding early recovery projects.

For his part, da Silva indicated that the aim of his visit to Syria is to discuss needs and joint work mechanisms with the Syrian side to implement them together to achieve the best results, and to move towards early recovery programs and support livelihoods by working professionally and under the joint program to reach the citizens in the fastest way throughout the Syrian geography.
