Joint Press conference of Syrian and Qatari foreign ministers in Damascus

Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shibani during a press conference with his Qatari counterpart, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, stressed that the State of Qatar has been a constant ally of the Syrian people, and Syria will continue to remember Qatar’s firm support for the people and their issues.

Al-Shaibani said “today we discussed with the Qatari delegation a comprehensive framework for bilateral cooperation for reconstruction in various sectors, and we look forward to continuing our bilateral relations and strengthening fraternal ties”.

Al-Shibani added rebuilding Syria is about ensuring the rights of all Syrians at home and abroad and giving them a chance to regain their land and rights.

For his part, Al-Khulaifi stressed that Qatar stands wholeheartedly with the justice of the Syrian issue, and Qarar’s position is firm in supporting the Syrian people”.

Al-Khulaifi said “we value the positive and distinguished decisions and the transfer to this important transitional stage. The Syrian people have provided a wonderful lesson in not surrendering and in demanding their legitimate rights”.

He added “we seek to develop relations and strengthen our partnerships, and Qatar will continue to support the brothers in Syria in all fields”.
