Joint Action Plan with “Oxfam” to Implement Projects

DAMASCUS, (ST) – Minister of Water Resources Dr. Kamal al -Sheikha and the Regional Director of Oxfam Andrew Baker and the Resident Representative of the Organization in Syria Dmitry Mudallv discussed the possibility of developing a joint action plan to ensure the implementation of the projects agreed upon between the two sides within a specific timetable and to hold periodical meetings that help overcome the obstacles and ensure fast delivery at work.

During the meeting held yesterday at the headquarters of the ministry, the Minister explained that the work will be carried out through a dynamic mechanism that ensures the best results on the ground in accordance with the directives of the Supreme Committee of Relief, affirming the readiness of the ministry to cooperate with Oxfam to implement the plan in accordance with the required priority to ensure rapid implementation of water and sanitation projects in different areas.

Dr. al -Sheikha stressed the important role of the International Organization “Oxfam”, the fruitful and constructive cooperation with the Ministry, its efforts in providing services and the delivery of aid to all citizens and providing clean drinking water for each residential community in Syria.

For his part, Mr. Baker underlined the importance of cooperation with the Ministry of Water Resources to ensure the needs of the population in the field of water and sanitation sector and expressed the desire of the organization to expand the employment prospects for the completion of more projects to meet the growing requirements in this area and joint cooperation to overcome difficulties that hinder the implementation of the joint business.

For his part, Mr. Mudallv explained the importance of cooperation and coordination with other organizations supporting the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF” for the implementation of joint projects with the ministry, stressing the importance of communications with these agencies to achieve the greatest benefit.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed on cooperation and continuous communication to implement the items of the joint action agreement and continuous consultation to expand the prospects of future cooperation and overcome difficulties.
