Jerusalem Governorate: Al-Aqsa is the exclusive right of Muslims

The Jerusalem Governorate reaffirmed that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is the exclusive right of Muslims alone and that all Israeli occupation measures to Judaize it are invalid.

In a statement today, WAFA quoted the governorate as saying, “Successive crimes of occupation by violating the sanctity of Al-Aqsa and aggressing the historical and legal situation in it will not work, nor will it be able to impose a new fait accompli, as the Palestinian people would not allow the mosque to be Judaized and would continue to defend it at all costs.

The governorate condemned the occupying forces’ aggression and forcing the worshippers to leave Al-Aqsa Mosque, in violation of all historical norms, laws and rights in the mosque, stressing the Palestinians’ right to access it and to seclusion and pray.

This morning, occupying forces turned the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque into a military barracks to secure the invasions of the settlers, who invaded its courtyards and carried out provocative tours.

The occupation forces also tightened their military measures in the Old City of Jerusalem, erected roadblocks in its streets, preventing young Palestinians from reaching Al-Aqsa.

Over the past days, the mosque has been brutally attacked by occupying forces, targeting worshippers and retreats inside the al-Qibli chapel with bullets and sound and gas bombs, injuring dozens, arresting hundreds and removing dozens from Al-Aqsa, and causing extensive material damage to the contents of the Al-Qibli chapel and Al-Aqsa clinic.
