JCPOA Proves Diplomacy Can Resolve Major Differences

Berlin – The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action reached between Iran and G5+1 proved that diplomacy is able to settle differences which seem to be hard to resolve, German deputy spokesperson said on Friday.

Twelve years ago, nobody could ever think of a nuclear agreement between Iran and other parties, Sawsan Chebli told reporters at a weekly press conference.

Answering a question asked by IRNA on the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers one year following the nuclear agreement, the German official said that the JCPOA demonstrated that diplomacy is able to ward off vital crises from happening.

Chebli said that Germany is keen to enhance ties with Iran and there is good ground for the enhancement of cooperation between Tehran and Berlin despite differences in some areas.

She said that Berlin is interested in President Hassan Rouhani’s trip to Germany.

But, according to the official, no date has already been fixed for Rouhani’s visit to Germany.

Restoring mutual trust between Tehran and Berlin is not going to happen overnight, she added.

The German deputy spokesperson also said it is quite evident that without Iran’s help, none of regional crises can be resolved.

Germany is negotiating with Iran to find possible ways to end the crisis in Syria, Chebli said, adding that Berlin wants Iran to play its constructive role in this issue.

Commenting on the US congress efforts to sabotage the nuclear deal, she said that there is no sign that the US government is deviating from the JCPOA.
