JCI -Lattakia, Latin Church launch “ Peace Recital ” to support children with cancer

On the occasion of World Cancer Day, the Junior Chamber International  ( JCI)- Lattakia   and the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Latin Church in Lattakia)  have launched   “Peace  Recital” as  a kind of humanitarian initiative , the charity event’s  proceeds that go back  to  “Farah” association to support children with cancer.
 
 The charity concert was performed by the artist “Badia Hassan” with the band conducted  by musician Gabi Sehyoni, at the Latin Church in Lattakia.
 
Chairman  of the local board of directors of the JCI-Lattakia 2022  Muhammad Rahabi said  in a statement to the Syriatimes e-newspaper: “ As the JCI  seeks to promote the values of peace, community development and raise the level of collective culture, we launch Peace Recital to support  the families of children with cancer.”
 
He added that the event meets  the sustainable development goals within the United Nations Development Program, especially  No. 16, which focuses on justice and peace projects, and  No. 17, which aims to strengthen social partnerships, which was manifested in a fruitful partnership with the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Latin) and the (Farah) Charitable Association.
 
In turn, Junior Makhoul, Deputy Chairman of the JCI-Lattakia   local board of directors, told the Syriatimes that  the charitable ceremony aims to highlight Syria’s civilization  as well as the humanitarian aspect. He indicated that the event includes  two phases :  The first is a musical evening, and the second is  communication with the families of children with cancer, to ensure that they benefit from the proceeds of the recital.
 
Makhoul emphasized that the event comes within the scope of the community in JCI, whose projects aim to develop the local community, enhance the spirit of cooperation and develop a sense of responsibility among members towards local social issues.
