“Jareeh Al-Watan” Games to kick off in Lattakia next Friday with Arab and international participation

For the first time in Syria, Al-Assad Sports City in Lattakia will host between the 20th  and 25th  of this August the  Homeland Wounded (Jareeh Watan)  Sports Games, with the participation of 92 wounded personnel from the Syrian army and the internal security forces.

According to a statement published by the Homeland Wounded Project on its Facebook account, the wounded personnel will compete in swimming, table tennis, basketball, badminton, athletics and physical strength games.

“The activities, which are organized by the Homeland Wounded Project and the General Sports Federation with Arab and international participation, will officially start next Friday, while the competitions will begin on Saturday,” the statement added.

The wounded personnel from the Syrian army and internal security forces who have been injured during the battles to defend the homeland will participate in the Games. The total disability wounded, whose injuries varied between single and bilateral amputations, along with paralyzed and blind wounded, will compete with the help of prosthetic limbs sitting or standing in games individually and collectively.

The wounded enriched their skills and abilities through training on the various sports that were mentioned in the statement.

This championship has the highest meanings of will and ability for those whose homeland became safe and strong thanks to them.
