Jalalzadeh: Iran will continue to stand by Syria

Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Iranian Shoura Council, Vahid Jalalzadeh, reiterated his country’s support for Syria, indicating that it will continue to do so.

In an interview with the Iranian Al-Alam TV channel today, Jalalzadeh pointed out Iran’s desire to continue promoting trade with Syria and Iraq.

On the nuclear negotiations with the West, Jalalzadeh referred to the Iranian government’s decision to continue the negotiations until reaching a result, but not with any consequence. He indicated that the negotiations made progress with the Europeans and obtained preliminary consensus, but Tehran conditioned the implementation of its commitments to the return of the American side to its pledges in full.

Jalalzadeh clarified that the exchange of messages between Iran and Washington is still going on through the European Union coordinator. He noted that “America’s withdrawal from the nuclear agreement assured us that guarantees do not work.”

Jalalzadeh stressed that Iran, over the course of the nuclear negotiations, proved that it is the most committed country to international laws and that the International Atomic Energy Agency will not reach any result through pressure.
