Jafari: Syrian people patriotism is Firm, No Room for Sedition, Discord

NEWYORK, (ST) _ Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, stressed Syria stands against the murderers who adopted a segregation policy to sow discord and disunity among the people of Syria , who are challenging the conspiracy.

In a meeting yesterday with Beatitude John X of Antioch Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Greek Orthodox church , who is visiting New York for the inauguration of His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph Zahlawi of Archdiocese of New York and the rest of North America, Dr. Jafaari noted the events taking place in the region targeting of the Eastern Church and its followers who are still clinging to their country , despite all the pressures, stressing that their steadfastness is a result of the deep faith of belonging to graced Syria .

“The inauguration of his Eminence Metropolitan, conveys to the whole world the message of Jesus Christ, peace be upon, who came from the land of Syria, where he grew the tree of peace for shedding security and peace of mind, “Jaafari said.

Addressing the Patriarch , Jafaari said, “You are here a continuation of Apostle Paul in his three missionary trips, launched from the land of Syria, carrying with him to the world the teachings of Christ, peace be upon him ,”adding that Patriarch Yazigi represents Wounded Syria, which will be always a center for moderation, love and tolerance.

He expressed hope for the safety of the two kidnapped bishops Paul Yazigi and John Abraham who were kidnapped by followers of obscurantist thought, demanding their unconditional release and called for pressuring the kidnappers for their immediate release.

Jaafari emphasized that the crisis Syria is experiencing needs all of us to join hands and stand together in the face of the advocates of injustice and promoters of obscurantist ideas and to ward off the threat of sedition , rather to dedicate ourselves to the values of love and tolerance.

He pointed the need not to forget usurped Palestine, whose people, including Christians have been suffering for decades from being exposed to harassment and pressure.
