Jabhat al-Nusra Terrorists to Leave Syria’s Beit Jinn Area

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, (ST)- Concerned authorities have completed final preparations for implementing an agreement that allows a number of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and their families to leave on Friday the town of Beit Jinn in the southwest of Damascus countryside to Idleb.

SANA reporter said that according to the agreement, the gunmen will hand over their heavy weapon and leave the hills and the positions where they had presence and head by buses to Idleb. Syrian Arab army units, later, will enter the area, carry out a mopping up operation and clear it of explosive devices and mines in preparation for the return of the locals and state institutions to the area.

Buses as well as the Syrian Arab Red Crescent vehicles are waiting in the southwestern suburb of Damascus to transport the gunmen.

Over the past weeks, the Syrian army in cooperation with supporting popular defense groups carried out a precise and intensive military operation in Beit Jinn and Mughr al-Mir areas to liberate them from the terrorists who wrecked havoc in and destabilized these areas. As a result, heavy human and material losses were inflicted upon the terrorists, some of who fled to the Lebanese town of Shib’a which is adjacent to Beit Jinn area in coordination with the Israeli occupation forces, which keep providing logistic and military support for the terrorist groups and facilitating the terrorists’ movement between the Syrian provinces of Daraa and Quneitra.
