Jabbour: The US President’s statements about his Russian counterpart destroy the United Nations

The head of the Syrian Association for the United Nations, Dr. George Jabbour, said that the statements of US President Joe Biden about his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin are frightening in every respect and mean the demolition of the United Nations.

Jabbour, the former expert at the United Nations Human Rights Council, added, “Either the American President says frankly that he is destroying the United Nations, or he issues an acceptable explanation for what he said when he answered yes to the journalist’s question whether he considers President Putin a war criminal.”

Jabbour warned against demolishing the United Nations, which is in its 77th year, despite its many problems, in order to avoid the outbreak of a global war.

Biden said in an interview with reporters on Wednesday that he considered Putin a “war criminal,” which Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov considered “unacceptable and a language that cannot be forgiven, especially when it comes from the head of a country whose bombs have killed hundreds of thousands of people around the world.”
