Jaafari: Zionist entity Responsible for Sponsoring Terrorism

NEWYORK,(ST)_ Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Bashar Jaafarisaid that the Israeli occupation seeks to create the conditions for exploding the region because, as admitted by  its leaders can not survive without war , therefore it sponsors terrorism in the region and as a result Israel and its politicians are responsibility for the consequences of its serious acts .

Israel’s intransigence should not crumble the UN to carry assigned duties

In a speech yesterday at a meeting for the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian at the UN, Jaafari said : ” Under the de facto policy that the Israeli occupation tries to impose , it is no longer likely to be treated by the UN and its Member States with routine or solidarity without any serious , nor Israel ‘s  intransigence and the support of some countries to lead to the UN inability to fulfill assigned duties , especially continued pressures on the Israeli politicians to end the occupation of Arab territories .”
He quoted words of former Israeli “prime minister” Ariel Sharon in 1973 , saying : ” we will make them a Pastrami sandwich and make a watershed for Jewish settlements between the Palestinians and other Jewish settlements along the West Bank in 25 year’s time .”
He denounced considering Israel stealing of 78 percent of historic Palestine is painless to the Palestinian people, noting that the UN General Assembly Resolution 273 of 1949 has set the terms of acceptance of Israel’s membership to the UN to that it should be committed without reservation to the principles of the Charter and honor UN resolutions , which confirm the right of Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as a capital and the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes , from which they were evicted forcibly at the hands of Zionist gangs and to compensate them for the inflicted losses .

Israel’s UN membership conditioned by commitment to relevant resolutions

Jaafari also pointed out that Israel’s membershipto the UN was conditional to its commitment to its relevant resolutions , adding that Israeli impunity encouraged it to persist in disregarding international legitimacy , non-application of UN relevant resolutions and continued escalation of the aggressive practices and violations of human rights and international humanitarian law , including continued settlement building and expansion that led to the emergence of the process of gradual annexation of the Palestinian territories, a manner that prevents the establishment of a viable Palestinian state .
Jaafariindicated that part of the Syrian territory is still under Israeli occupation for more than 45 years, despite the fact that the UN Security Council itself unanimously adopted Resolution No. 497 of 1981 , which considered Israel’s decision to annex the Syrian Golan in 1967 null and void .

UN continued failure to compel Israel to implement UN resolutions, not Accepted

He considered that , UN failure is not more acceptable to continue forcing Israel to implement UN resolutions and put an end to the policy of terror , oppression and racial discrimination and arbitrary detention against the Palestinians and restricting them in all walks of life , stealing the Golan ‘s natural resources including oil , gas and water in addition to marketing products of the Israeli settlements in some UN Member States in a clear violation of international law .
He stressed that the option of just and comprehensive peace will only be achieved through complete withdrawal of Israel from all Arab lands to June, 4, 1967 border line and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as a capital , and resolving the issue of Palestinian refugees, based on Resolution 194 of 1948 on the basis of the UN resolutions concerned.
Jaafari called on UN Member States to vote in favor of the draft resolution entitled “The Syrian Golan ” in the service of the international law and the provisions of the UN Charter .
