Tehran-(ST)- The 38th International Conference on Islamic Unity in Tehran stressed that the issue of Al-Quds Al-Sharif is the source of unity of the Islamic nation and one of its common values.
The closing statement of the conference, according to the IRNA news agency, stated, “The holding of this conference took place amidst painful and harsh circumstances following the brutal crimes of the usurping Zionist entity against the oppressed Palestinian people, the continuous assassinations of resistance leaders, and the support of Western countries for this entity, which confirms the necessity of cooperation between Islamic countries in order to achieve common goals more than ever before.”
The statement warned of the danger of the Zionist entity’s efforts, supported by the global hegemonic powers led by the United States and some Western countries, represented by occupying all Palestinian territories, committing murders against innocent women, children and the elderly, tightening the siege, preventing the arrival of humanitarian aid and depriving them of essential needs such as electricity and water, and then displacing two million defenceless civilians.
The statement stressed that the issue of Holy Quds is one of the common values in the Islamic world, and that this issue was and will always be a source of unity for Islamic peoples.
Defending the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people is a religious, humanitarian and moral duty, and remaining silent about the crimes of the usurping Zionist entity contradicts all humanitarian and Islamic values.
The Muslim scholars participating in the conference considered that the Al-Aqsa Flood operation and the heroic actions carried out by the Palestinian resistance fighters are a legitimate right and a decisive response to the attacks of the Zionist entity, stressing that confronting and defending the sovereignty of their lands by Islamic countries against the attacks and recklessness of the usurping Zionist entity constitutes a legitimate and legal right for them.
The conference participants expressed their hope that the Islamic world would move towards just peace and seek to reject the language of violence.
They also welcomed the reopening of Arab embassies in Damascus, stressing that the stability of lasting peace in the region comes only through dialogue between countries, and expressing their hope to strengthen relations and cooperation between Islamic countries in all political, economic, cultural and security fields more and more.
The scholars participating in the conference called for constructive cooperation between Islamic media outlets while avoiding sectarian incitement, in a way that paves the way for the establishment of a union of Islamic countries.
The statement stressed that the only way to confront the crimes of the usurping Zionist entity lies in the unity of the Islamic world and taking measures against this criminal entity that does not fulfill its obligations and promises and continues its policies of destruction, assassinations and incitement of conflicts in the Islamic world. Today, the Zionist entity is weaker than ever before and the great victory over it is near.
The statement called for a comprehensive boycott of political and economic relations between Islamic countries and the Zionist entity, and stopping the supply of fuel to it. The participants also called on the scholars of the nation to urge Muslims and free people of the world to boycott Zionist goods, and to consider sending food and military aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza a humanitarian and religious duty.
The conference opened its 38th session in Tehran with the participation of Syria last Thursday under the title “Islamic Cooperation to Achieve Common Values with a Focus on the Palestinian Issue.”
The conference was attended by the Syrian Ambassador to Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Dioub, and 2,500 civil and military figures, as well as a group of elites and thinkers from Islamic countries via virtual space.
More than 300 articles were discussed on the Palestinian issue and ways to achieve common values through enhancing cooperation between Islamic countries.
