RAQQA, (ST)- Media outlets and electronic newspapers close to the ISIS terrorist organization have announced that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in an airstrike on Raqqa countryside.
“Russia Today” website quoted these sources as saying on Tuesday that “al-Baghdadi was killed in Raqqa countryside last Friday.”
The British “Mirror” newspaper cited another source as saying that “al-Baghdadi was killed in the Iraqi city of Mosul.”
Earlier, Iraqi forces had announced that an Iraqi warplane targeted al-Baghdadi convoy near borders with Syria. He was travelling to attend meeting of ISIS senior figures. Meanwhile, sources in the Iraqi province of Nineveh said the airstrike targeted al-Baghdadi and close ISIS members in an ISIS command center near the Syrian borders.
Some media outlets had reported that the terrorist leader suffered serious injuries as a result of intensive airstrikes on Raqqa countryside.
