Israeli occupation turns Jerusalem into  military barracks and hundreds of settlers storm Al-Aqsa and the Old City

The Israeli occupation forces this morning turned the occupied city of Jerusalem into a military barracks where hundreds of settlers stormed into Al-Aqsa courtyards and arrested Palestinians.

Palestinian media reported that hundreds of settlers stormed into Al-Aqsa and carried out provocative tours in its courtyards under heavy guard from the occupation forces, which intensified their presence in its surroundings, prevented Palestinians from entering, emptied it of worshipers, and attacked the people stationed in the area of Bab al-Silsilah, one of the doors of the mosque. They also arrested a number of people at one of its doors and in the courtyards.

In addition, the occupation forces tightened their military measures in the Holy City to protect the settlers who carried out provocative tours in a number of neighborhoods and streets of the Old City and on Al-Wadi Road, one of the roads leading to Al-Aqsa.

Head of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, condemned the racist measures of the occupation authorities against the Palestinians in the city of Jerusalem.

Fattouh noted in a statement that the attacks of the occupation forces and settlers on the Palestinian people and their sanctities in the face of the silence of the international community reflect the extent of its inability to turn its condemnations into actual measures to stop these crimes, which makes it complicit and an accomplice in covering them up.
