Israeli occupation continues to close the Karm Abou Salem crossing south of Gaza

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – For the second day in a row, the Israeli occupation authorities continue to close the Karm Abou Salem commercial crossing in Gazza.

Wafa News Agency quoted the Presidential Committee for Coordination of the Entry of Goods as saying: The occupation authorities have begun preventing exports from the besieged Gaza Strip through Karm Abou Salem since yesterday until further notice.

Spokesman for the General Union of Industries, Wadah Bseiso condemned the occupation authorities’ decision to close the crossing, and considered it as a collective punishment that exacerbates the suffering of the people of the besieged Gaza Strip.

For his part, the Head of the Gaza Governorate Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Aed Abu Ramadan confirmed that closing the crossing constitutes a new escalation in the policy of the ongoing economic blockade on the Gaza Strip and increases the suffering of its people.

The Karm Abou Salem crossing is the only commercial outlet from the Gaza Strip to the occupied West Bank.
