Israeli aggression targets Al-Hodeidah Port in Yemen, casualties reported

The Israeli enemy warplanes on Saturday carried out airstrikes against the port of Al-Hodeidah in western Yemen. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of a number of Yemenis and the injury of others, in addition to significant material damage.

According to Yemeni media outlets, the enemy warplanes targeted Al-Hodeidah Governorate electricity facility and its fuel tanks in the port of Al-Hodeidah. As a result a huge fire broke out and significant material damage was caused in the targeted area.

The Yemeni Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of 3 civilians and the injury of 87 , some of them suffer  from sever burns.

The Yemen Army Spokesperson Yahya Saree stressed that the Yemeni armed forces will not hesitate to retaliate against the Israeli strikes on Hodaidah Port.

For its part, the Ministry of Electricity and Energy condemned the Israeli airstrikes against Al-Hodeidah Governorate’s electricity and diesel fuel tanks at the Ras Katnib power station in Al-Hodeidah Governorate.

The Yemeni Minister of Electricity and Energy Muhammad Al-Bukhaiti condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli aggression against a civilian electrical station that provides services to the people, considering targeting the Ras Katnaib station to be a crime against humanity.

For his part, the Ministry of Oil and Minerals condemned the barbaric raids launched by the Israeli entity on Al-Hodeidah, stressing that they constitute a clear violation of international humanitarian law and its rules that stipulate the preservation of civilian lives and the maintenance of civilian property.

The ministry said in a statement today that the blatant Israeli aggression against Yemen and targeting civilian objects, including oil tanks, confirms the enemy’s insistence on its arrogance in an attempt to double the suffering of the Yemeni people, and to dissuade them from their firm and principled positions in support for the Palestinian people, for their cause and for their valiant resistance.

The statement held the international community, first and foremost the United Nations, the Security Council and international organizations, fully responsible for the Israeli aggression and blatant violation against the Yemeni people and the sovereignty of Yemen.
