The unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States and the West on Syria, Cuba and some other countries should be considered as an aggression, the Irish activist Edward Horgan, a former lecturer and army officer, has stressed, pointing out that the repercussions of these measures are destructive and they affect civilians, mainly children and women.
In an article published by the Czech Halo Novini online newspaper on Saturday, Horgan said that since the end of the World War II, the United States, its allies and NATO countries have waged wars to dominate countries’ major resources in a blatant violation of the international law and the UN Charter.
He affirmed that all these wars, including those on Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Serbia, have been illegal and catastrophic.
The Irish activist asserted that NATO has posed the biggest threat to international peace since the end of World War II, pointing out that the United States, NATO countries, which are EU members, also use diplomatic and economic pressure to force neutral European states to abandon their neutrality.
