Iravani urges Security Council to condemn heinous terrorist attack on Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province

Iran’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Amir Saeed Iravani called on the UN Security Council to condemn the heinous terrorist attack that took place yesterday in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, which resulted in the martyrdom of 10 Iranian security personnel.

In a letter addressed yesterday to the President of the Security Council, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and the President of the General Assembly, Iravani strongly condemned the heinous terrorist act committed by a terrorist group calling itself the Army of Justice in Sistan and Baluchestan, southeast of the country, stressing the need to bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice and ensure their full accountability.

Iravani noted his country’s commitment to protecting the Iranian people from the brutal threat of these violent terrorist organizations.

The media center of the Iranian Interior Ministry announced in a statement yesterday that 10 Iranian police officers were martyred in a treacherous terrorist attack on a police patrol in the city of Taftan, in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
