Iraqi president holds talks with Syria’s ambassador in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, (ST)_ The Iraqi president Barham Saleh discussed on Sunday with Syria’s ambassador in Baghdad Saddah Jad’an Al-Dandah the ways of developing bilateral relations between Iraq and Syria and the situation in the region. 
 
A statement released by the Iraqi presidency said that the talks between the Iraqi President and the Syrian ambassador focused on the historic and deep-rooted bilateral relations between the peoples of Iraq and Syria and the ways of developing these relations for the security of the two countries. 
 
The Iraqi president said that the region’s countries have a big responsibility to overcome the crises, asserting the need to hold joint dialogues to consolidate regional stability and support integration among the countries. 
 
He affirmed that the achievement of stability in the regions is linked to tge achievement of stability in Iraq and Syria. 
 
For his part, Al-Dandah said that the Iraqi president reiterated his country’s firm stance regarding the necessity of the return of Syria’s leading role in the Arab League and enhancing cooperation with Syria at regional and international levels.
