Iraqi President: Developments in Syria are of great interest and we affirm our keenness on its stability and security

Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed his country’s keenness on Syria’s stability and security.

The media department of the Iraqi presidency said in a statement “President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received today in Baghdad the Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to Iraq, Sattam Jadaan Al-Dandah. The meeting witnessed a presentation of the developments in the security situation in Syria. Rashid stressed “the developments in events in Syria and their repercussions on the region as a whole are of great interest.”

Rashid said that “Iraq worked to enhance international peace and security.”

According to the statement, Ambassador Al-Dandah briefed the Iraqi President on the latest developments in the Syrian arena, noting “Iraq’s supportive positions towards Syria.”
