Iraqi President Appreciates Iran’s Assistance to Fight Daesh

Tehran –Iraqi President Fuad Masum appreciated Iran’s assistance to his country to fight the terrorist group of Daesh.

He said that Iran, as a neighboring country which shares over one thousand kilometers of borders with Iraq, has helped Baghdad a lot to confront the criminal Daesh terrorists.

Talking in a TV interview, he described ties between Iran and Iraq as good and said that since the very beginning of Daesh terrorist group in Iraq, Iran has provided both military and human resources to Iraq.

He said his government appreciated the help.

Masum warned against the threat of Daesh to the whole region.

He said the domination of terrorists over the region would pose a threat not only to Iraq but also the whole region.

Pointing to the victories of Iraq against the Daesh terrorist group, he said this is hard to achieve in some parts of the country where terrorists are mingled with civilians.

ISIL destroys oldest mosque in Iraq’s Al-Anbar Province

Meanwhile, the ISIL terrorist group has blown up the oldest mosque in the Iraqi province of al-Anbar.

According to a security official in the province, the mosque was in the city of al-Baghdadi, 90 kilometers to the west of Ramadi, capital of al-Anbar.

He told al-Sumaria news on Friday that ISIL militants planted explosives in the Al-Faruq Mosque and then blew up the historical building.

Last month, Takfiri militants belonging to the ISIL terrorist group demolished a mosque in district in the Iraqi city of Mosul.

The terror group has been carrying out horrific acts of violence including public decapitations and crucifixions against all communities in Iraq and Syria.
