Iraqi politicians and writers : US repeats its mistaken policy towards the region’s peoples by activating the so-called ‘Caesar Act’
Iraqi politicians and writers have slammed the coercive and unilateral measures being adopted by the US and western countries against Syria.
They underscored that the sanctions imposed on Syria by Washington and its European allies under the so-called ‘Caesar Act’ violate international laws and they constitute a crime against humanity.
Secretary General of the Iraqi National Conference Sheikh Jawad al-Khalsi said that the American Administration repeats its mistaken policy towards the region’s peoples by activating the so-called ‘Caesar Act’.
“These attempts, including the blockade being imposed on Iraq will fail,” he added.
On his part, Head of the Iraqi Popular Committee for Supporting Syria and Resistance Abdul Reda al-Hamid said the US and the West failed in achieving their goals is Syria thanks to the unity of the Syrian people and army.
Spokesman of the Iraqi Nationalists Movement Khalid al-Bawi and the Iraqi wrter Hussien al-Kinan said that the policy of imposing sanctions came as a result of the failure of the US plot against Syria.
The Military expert Subah al-Akili made it clear that ‘Caesar Act’ aims to weaken Syria due to its support for resistance and Arab causes, including the Palestinian cause.
