Iraqi Forces Liberate Khalidiya in Anbar Province

Iraqi army forces have managed to bring under their control the city of Khalidiya in the western province of Anbar.

According to reports on Friday, the Iraqi army liberated Khalidiya after flushing ISIL Takfiri terrorists out of the city.

Earlier on Friday, an Iraqi official announced that army forces, backed by volunteers, are set to launch an operation in the near future to retake the central city of Ramadi, the provincial capital of Anbar, from the ISIL Takfiri terrorists.

“The operation will not begin in the next few hours, but in the coming days,” Ahmed al-Assadi, a spokesman for the Popular Mobilization forces, who also serves as a lawmaker, told AFP.

“It will be a wide operation involving tens of thousands of security forces and Hashed al-Shaabi,” Assadi said, using the Arabic name for the Popular Mobilization forces.

He noted that the upcoming offensive is primarily aimed at stopping any further advance by the Takfiri terrorists.

The liberation of Khalidiya came a day after Iraqi troops, backed by volunteer forces, broke the siege on the embattled Baiji refinery in the northern province of Salahuddin, liberating some 300 soldiers in the process.

Qais al-Khazali, head of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq volunteer forces, said the group and the security forces in Salahuddin successfully carried out the security operation to break the siege on Baiji refinery.

A spokesman for the Iraqi military also confirmed the full retaking of the refinery, which lies some 40 kilometers north of the Iraqi city of Tikrit in Salahuddin.

The new gains show the resolve of the Iraqi forces in their battle against the Takfiri group.

Iraqi Forces break ISIL’s siege of Baiji Oil Refinery

Meanwhile, The Iraqi counterterrorism forces ended ISIL’s siege of Baiji oil refinery in the Northern province of Salahuddin in an operation to rescue tens of soldiers who were surrounded by the Takfiri terrorists.

The siege of Baiji (oil refinery) in Northern Tikrit was broken and 300 soldiers who were also surrounded in the refinery were also released,” Qais Khazali, Secretary-General of Assaeb Ahl al-Haq popular movement, said on Friday.

Khazali underlined that Assaeb Ahl al-Haq and Iraqi army jointly carried out the military operations to break the Baiji refinery siege.

Meantime, Sa’ad Ma’an, spokesman of joint operations, said that the Iraqi security forces struck heavy blow on terrorists in Baiji.

Earlier this week, the Iraqi forces took control of two important districts of the town of Baiji in the Northern province of Salahuddin from ISIL militants.

The Iraqi forces purged Baiji’s Sekak and al-Askari districts of ISIL terrorists.

The Iraqi security forces also announced on Wednesday that they had seized back control of Al-Naft and al-Shohada districts of Baiji from ISIL.

The Iraqi army also purged the towers 15, 16 and 17 of Baiji oil refinery of ISIL terrorists.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently have threatened all communities, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq, and Syria.

Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.

The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
