Iraqi Forces Lay Siege on Strategic Town in Anbar Province

Iraqi forces laid siege on the Central town of Karma in Anbar province in preparation for a major offensive to liberate the strategic town from ISIL Takfiri terrorists.

Senior security official said on Friday that the armed forces backed by the local tribesmen were tightening the noose around the ISIL terrorists in Karma, which lies some 53 kilometers (33 miles) East of the provincial capital, Ramadi.

Sources say Iraqi forces have also managed to cut off all supply lines of arms and ammunition for the Takfiri terrorists trapped inside the troubled region.

Large contingents of security forces are now deployed on the outskirts of the town in order to mount a major operation.

Security experts say the liberation of Karma will also pave the way for clearing the city of Fallujah of ISIL terrorists.

“It is an important advancement for Iraqi forces, volunteers and tribesmen,” Mohammad Naji, a commander of volunteer forces said.

Meanwhile, the commander of the Baghdad Operations Lt. Gen. Abdul-Amir al-Shammari has said that recapture of Karma district will be important to security of the capital as well.

Also on Friday, Iraqi army forces killed three of the most prominent ISIL Takfiri terrorist commanders in the same volatile province.

Iraqi soldiers, volunteers and tribesmen have succeeded in driving the ISIL terrorists out of some areas in Iraq.

They recently managed to cleanse ISIL terrorists from most areas of the city of Tikrit, situated Northwest of the capital, Baghdad, inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists.

The Takfiri extremists have carried out heinous crimes in the Iraq and Syria, including mass executions and the beheading of people.
