Iraqi forces launch a security operation to pursue ISIS remnants in Diyala

The Iraqi forces launched a large-scale security operation in the Hawi Al-Azeem area, north of Diyala Governorate to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorists.

The commander of Diyala operations in the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, Talib Al-Moussawi, said in a statement that SANA’s correspondent in Baghdad received a copy of it.

“The Popular Mobilization  and the formations supporting it began a wide security operation from three axes to pursue the remnants of the terrorist organization “ISIS” in the Great Basin on its eastern and western sides.

This operation comes after the killing of 11 Iraqi soldiers in an attack by ISIS terrorists in Diyala province last Friday.

On the other hand, an Iraqi security source revealed that one of the cars of an American logistical support was damaged after detonating an explosive device as it was passing on the international road between the provinces of Diwaniyah and Basra, pointing out that the bombing did not result in casualties.

It is noteworthy that the international road linking the provinces of southern Iraq witnesses bombings against American military convoys on an almost daily basis.
